Superstar

About 3 weeks ago The Good Companions amateur theatre group in Derby was looking for a gymnast to perform in their musical show of Hello Dolly.  So Ashley was invited to go along and see if he'd like to take part.
He thought he'd just be doing a somersault or 2 but it turned out that he would be doing acrobatics, dancing and singing. lol
So Ashley, who doesn't act, dance and definitely does not sing,  has had 3 weeks to practice before doing a week long of shows, he has had a wonderful time and Im very proud of him.  The girls are also very proud of their big bro and got very excited  when he came on stage.))

Magna

We love going to Magna the science museum in Sheffield.  The museum is split into 4 sections within an old smelting factory.  Fire, Water, Air and Earth and then there is the large park.

Family cooking classes

At our local Adult Education Centre they also run some family courses.  As Aimee and Luci love cooking we booked onto a six week family cooking course.  Yay  So every week we get to go out and have some special time making lots of yummy things like these cakes the girls made this week.

Autumn fruit crumble

The best of it is it's totally free.

Back Home

We are back home, unfortunately we are a week early.  Just as we got to our first campsite our lovely van broke down. ((((((

We stopped at a garage who confirmed that our van was indeed poorly and only firing on 3 cylinders, not 4.  So we went to the campsite, pitched up our tents and decided to worry about it another day.)))

Theres not a lot in Rhosniegr, 2 shops, 1 library, 1 surf shop, 1 pharmacy and about 6 restaurants/fast food.  There is a lovely beach and a really nice nature walk

By Friday we'd just about had enough so decided that is was time to head home.  We called the breakdown truck at lunch time and by 6 o'clock we were on our way home.

These are the photos from when we went to Fishguard in March.

We are dissappointed not to have made it to Fishguard as we really love it there but there's always next year and the five days we had were brilliant.

Wales

Well we are off to Wales tomorrow.  We are going to a campsite in Rhosneigr for 3 days.  Mum, Dad and Luci will be sleeping in the car and Ash, Aimee and I will be sleeping in tents.  After Rhosneigr we will head to mid Wales before going to a caravan we have booked in Fishguard.  We will stay in Fishguard from the 24th to the 1st.

I am sooooooo excited.

Do we learn?

Every year we have to show that we are educating our children.  Sometimes we send in a report, sometimes we have a visit.  To be honest it's quicker and easier to have a visit which is what we did this year.
This is our Educational Consultant.
Theres some debate here as to whether we should have visits or not as some LA's (local education) insist, demand and play dirty to ensure they get into peoples houses and yes thats what ours did in the beginning but to be fair our consultant is a nice bloke and makes the visits very easy.

Our Van

We have spent most of the summer holidays converting our 17 seater minibus into a campervan.  We really love it and can't wait to go on holiday to Wales next week.

Flat Ruby

This is Flat Ruby and she's arrived just in time for our trip to Wales.

Dovedale

Today we went to Dovedale

Its beautiful there and I love it.  We get to cross the stepping stones and play in the water.  Sometimes it can get really busy and there's a huge queue to cross so we just jump in the water and cross that way.

Sherwood Pines

This is the park at Sherwood Pines we went with some friends and had a great time.
We found this frog on the path which had been hurt so we had to carry it half way round the forest so we could put it near the pond and hopfully give it a chance to recover and survive.  We have no idea what its got all over it back.  I thought it might just wipe off but it didn't.

Roman Villa

Yesterday was my (Mum) birthday and we went to the Roman Bath House in Wroxeter.

We'd seen them build this on channel 4 some time ago and loved everything they did so I was really pleased to finally be going.  We went with friends aswell which made it even more special

What was really cool was on the way home, driving up the M1 we saw Tim who did all the plastering ( look at the painting behind Luci and he's the one in the middle).  It was sooooo cool.  On the program he was lovely and when he saw we recognised him he gave us a wave.  What a great birthday treat.

New arrival

Well we was on a count down, 15 minutes till we left to see Horrible Histories, Awful Egyptians at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham.  Half of us are stood at the door waiting for the other half when there's a knock at the door.

 Meet Flat Kitt.

This is me, Jodie and Kitt outside the Theatre Royal.

The awful Egyptians were brilliant.  They told us all about King Remesuss, mummys and lots more.  I really enjoyed it.
